ArrayStar Technical Requirements

Hardware requirements for ArrayStar are largely dependent upon whether you will be doing microarray analysis only, or if you will be performing SNP analysis on genomic sequence assemblies. Please see the following sections for technical recommendations for each type of analysis.

 

Memory and hard disk requirements will vary depending on the size and nature of the data and on the settings used. In addition to these recommendations, users will need sufficient disk space available for their own data and results. Note that internet access is also required for installation, and recommended for genome and annotation downloads.

* Note that ArrayStar and QSeq were designed to run on Windows operating systems only. However, you can run ArrayStar and QSeq on a Macintosh with an Intel processor by using Parallels Desktop with Windows 7 or higher installed.

**An assembly from SeqMan NGen version 4 or higher is required for many SNP analysis methods.
