Exporting Variant Data

To save the contents of the Variant Report as a VCF Variant file, see Saving Variant Report Information to a VCF Variant File.

Once you have created the file, you can export it for use in other applications, such as ArrayStar. To do so:

1)  Open the report via the Variant > Variant Report command.

2)  Organize columns as desired. When you export variant data for later use in ArrayStar, you must include the following columns in the Variant Report:

      Contig ID

      Contig Pos

      Ref Pos

      Type

      Ref Base

either SNP Base or Called Base

      SNP%

If you wish to determine coding vs. non-coding regions or synonymous vs. non-synonymous changes in ArrayStar, you must also export the following columns:

      Genotype

      Feature Name

      Feature Type

      either Codon or Protein Change

3)  Choose File > Save Variant Report.

Note that you may also copy variant report results as tab-delimited text by selecting Edit > Select All and then Edit > Copy.
