During normal installation, Lasergene places genetic codes in the GeneticCodes folder, found in the following location:
Windows 7 & Windows 8: C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\DNASTAR\Lasergene ‘x’ Data
Macintosh: Hard Drive:Applications:DNASTAR:Lasergene ‘x’
… where ‘x’ represents the version number.
If you select Project > Genetic Codes > [Code Name] and the code file is absent from the Genetic Codes folder, the Find dialog will open automatically.
Navigate to the folder containing the missing genetic code file (which will have the extension .rtc), and then click Open.
