Definition and Features

SeqMan NGen is a software assembly tool designed to be used with both traditional and next-generation sequence technologies, and can be used to perform both reference-guided and de novo assemblies. SeqMan NGen is fully integrated with Lasergene's SeqMan Pro, so that once your assembly is complete, numerous tools are available for analyzing your project, including discovering SNPs, evaluating coverage, and annotating your consensus sequence. Unique features of SeqMan NGen include:

 

  • Assembly of sequence data from Illumina, Ion Torrent, Roche 454, Pacific Biosciences, SOLiD, or Sanger
  • Performs reference-guided or de novo assemblies
  • Easy-to-use interface for either simple or complex projects
  • Ability to split reads based on a linker sequence
  • Assemble file formats compatible with QSeq for RNA-Seq analysis
  • Adjustable "minimum match percentages" to use during SNP fill-in passes
  • RNA-Seq and DGE applications available
  • Works with multiple next-gen technologies within a project or separately
  • Accurate assembler of "deep" data sets where coverage can range up to 200,000 x
