November 21, 2019 Newsletter – Honey bee genetics using Sanger, Alanine scanning
Welcome to this edition of our newsletter. This month, we highlight two interesting new blog posts as well as our survey drawing winners.
With some help from DNASTAR software and support services, Dr. Julia Jones of the Institute for Bee Research, Hohen Neuendorf recently overcame the unique challenges presented by a very large Sanger sequencing data set. The results of this study on honey bee genetics will help researchers better understand hygienic behavior in bees. What is “hygienic” bee behavior? This question and six others are answered in our recent interview with Dr. Jones.
This summer, we released some exciting new functionality for protein design and hotspot scanning in Protean 3D. Learn more about this exciting workflow and see how we stack up to other tools in this blog post featuring protein design benchmarks.
