Dr. Petr Tvrdik of the University of Utah will present a talk on RNA-seq analysis for mouse geneticists. He will discuss his research on RNA expression profiles in mouse cortical microglia of two different embryonic origins and his experience with DNASTAR's SeqMan NGen and QSeq applications.
Dr. Brenda Oppert of the USDA Agricultural Research Service Center for Grain and Animal Health Research will present an her work with the lesser grain borer Rhyzopertha dominica and the studies of phospine-resistance in this species. She will also discuss how she uses DNASTAR's SeqMan NGen and ArrayStar applications to work with genomic and transcriptomic R. dominica data.
Matthew Keyser, Next-Gen Application Scientist for DNASTAR, will give a live demonstration of DNASTAR software capabilities capabilities related to a broad range of next-gen sequence assembly and analysis workflows, particularly as they apply to work with non-model organisms.
