Genomic Analysis with Lasergene: Case Studies and a Workflow
Royal Palm Salon 4, 5, & 6
Beverages and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Space is limited. Register today!

Douglas D. Rhoads of the University of Arkansas will describe the assembly and analysis of Staphylococcus genomes using the DNASTAR Genomics Suite. In this presentation, he will highlight the process in which he performed de novo and templated assemblies of a bacterial genome, identified structural variants, and compared the genome of this bacterial species to the genomes of other Staphylococci species.

Brenda Oppert of the USDA Agricultural Research Service Center for Grain and Animal Health Research will present an analysis of gene expression in the yellow mealworm, Tenebrio molitor, that has been intoxicated by Bacillus thuringiensis Cry3a toxin. In this presentation, she will describe her use of DNASTAR's SeqMan NGen and ArrayStar applicatations to ultimately provide a snapshot of the intoxification process in an insect.

Matthew Keyser, Next-Gen Application Scientist for DNASTAR, will give a live demonstration of DNASTAR software capabilities capabilities related to a broad range of next-gen sequence assembly and analysis workflows, particularly as they apply to work with non-model organisms.
