Protean 3D offers a variety of different Report views, depending on the structure or result (variant search, BLAST search) being viewed.

If the entire sequence or “nothing” is selected, the report applies to the entire protein. If an entire multi-chain molecule is selected, all chains are represented in the report. If a subset of the sequence is selected (a chain, feature, etc.), the report shows analysis information for only the selected portion.

Selecting a row in any Report view selects the same element in other views. Similarly, selections made elsewhere will be highlighted simultaneously in the Report view.

Tool-related tasks in the Composition, Variants and Biophysical Properties views:

Task How To
To open a new file Choose an option from the the Open a local file () drop-down menu.
To save the document in .structure file format Press the Save to a file tool ().
To switch to another type of report Use the drop-down menu in the view header.
To add and view a report not yet in the drop-down list Use the Add reports to this view tool () in the view header.
To delete the current report Use the Remove the current report tool () in the view header.
To export the report contents Use the Export tool () in the view header. Report contents can be saved in Comma-separated values (.csv), Tab-separated values (.tsv) or Extensible table (.xtf) format.
To open a copy of the current report in a new Report tab Use the Clone this view tool () in the view header. After using this command, you may wish to move one of the views to a different location so you can compare multiple reports at the same time.
To show the active view in full-screen mode Use the View > Full Screen command or the the Full screen tool at the bottom right corner of the view.
To exit full screen mode Press the Esc key or use the Exit full screen tool ) at the bottom of the full-screen view.
To configure the number and location of visible views. Use the View > Change layout command or the Change layout tool (image varies) in the bottom right corner of the view. The following options are available:

  • One – To show only the current view.
  • Two Horizontal () – To show the current view on top and one additional view below it.
  • Two Vertical () – To show the current view on the left, and one additional view to the right.
  • Three Horizontal () – To show the current view on top and two additional views below it.
  • Three – Left () – To show the current view on the left and two additional views stacked one on top of the other on the right.
  • Three – Right () – To show the current view on the right and two additional views stacked one on top of the other on the left.
  • Three – Top () – To show the current view on the top and two additional views side-by-side on the bottom.
  • Three – Bottom () – To show the current view on the bottom and two additional views side-by-side on the top.
