Sorting by Variants in the Alignment View

The Variant > Sort by Variant menu option orders sequences in the Alignment View such that sample sequences with variant bases in the aligned column are sorted to the top and samples with non-variant bases are sorted to the bottom.

To use this option in the Alignment View:

1)  Select one or more columns in the consensus sequences that contain variant bases.

2)  Select Variant > Sort by Variants.

A checkmark is displayed next to the menu option.

The sample sequences in the column are ordered by variants

If more than one column containing variants is selected, variants are sorted hierarchically from left to right.

To use this option in the Variant Report window:

1)  Open the Variant Report.

2)  Select Variant > Sort by Variant. A checkmark is displayed next to the menu option.

3)  Click on a row in a Variant report. As the row is selected, the corresponding variant base is selected in the Alignment View and the sample sequences in the column are ordered by variants.

To turn off automatic sorting by variants:

1)  Open the Alignment View.

2)  Select Contig > Sort > by Name or Contig > Sort > by Offset. A checkmark is displayed next to the menu option.
