Reassembling Contigs

Note: This topic is not applicable to BAM-based projects.

You may reassemble one or more contigs in a project at any time. This can be useful to compare results obtained with different parameter values.

For example, if you assemble a project with a high Minimum match percentage, you may obtain many contigs. With a lower value, all the data may assemble into a single contig.

To reassemble one or more contigs, use the following procedure:

1)  From the Project Summary window, highlight the contigs you wish to reassemble.

2)  Select Contig > Reassemble Contig.

Further considerations when reassembling contigs:

The Reassemble Contig command acts only on the sequence data in the selected contig(s); it will not add to the project any new data that may be listed in the Unassembled Sequences window.

The pre-assembly options of “Don’t add new contigs” and “Don’t add single sequence contigs” are ignored when using this command.

Note that SeqMan Pro will compare each contig against all others, but it will only reassemble or align highlighted contigs.
