ArrayStar Tables

The ArrayStar tables allow you to view detailed information about the genes, SNPs, exons, isoforms, peaks and/or fragments in your project. Tables are accessed via the Data menu. The availability of a particular table depends on the workflow.

A set of useful Table Tools (icons) appears directly above each table and can be used for tasks such as creating sets, exporting data, printing, and more.

Tables initially contain a minimum number of default columns. Additional columns with expression and annotation information can be easily added, renamed, sorted and/or rearranged. For detailed information, see Work with Tables. Descriptions of available columns—and the tables in which they can be added—can be found in Table Column Descriptions.

Tables provide many options for "soft" filtering your data. "Soft" filtering means that only those data passing the specification will be displayed in the table. By contrast, "hard" filtering, done via the Add Experiments to Import dialog, means that only data meeting the specified criteria are imported into ArrayStar in the first place.

Changes made to any table cause the other tables to be updated automatically. For example, in the SNP Table, you might filter to search for only SNPs that occur on chromosome 1. The Gene Table would then contain only the genes on chromosome 1 that contain SNPs.
