Extending Contig Ends

Note: This topic is not applicable to BAM-based projects.

To restore sequence ends at the beginning and ends of a contig, select Contig > Extend Contig Ends.

SeqMan Pro will restore up to 100 bases of the trimmed ends of sequences located at the beginning and ends of the selected contigs. The sequence will not be extended past any vector trim sites.

This command is active from the Project Summary window, Contig Info window, Alignment View, and Strategy View.

Extend Contig Ends is useful when evaluating whether some of the lower-quality trimmed data may provide evidence that two contigs may be joined.

Note: You may instead prefer to extend the sequence manually in the Alignment View or from the Trace Data window.
