We are expanding our staff with the creation of several new positions, as listed below.

Software Testing Analyst is responsible for performing software testing, verification of bug fixes, and generation of test cases covering product installation, usability, and bioinformatics accuracy. Bachelor's or graduate degree in molecular biology, genetics, computer science or a similar field is required. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, effective problem solving skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Previous experience with molecular biology techniques and/or software testing is preferred.

Bioinformatics Specialists are responsible for understanding current and future product and market directions in specified areas of focus.  You will be expected to be hands-on in using competitor products and in developing new product idea prototypes for our software engineers.  You need a solid grasp of our markets as well as ideas for where we can best focus for greatest future commercial success. 

Senior Scientists are responsible for staying abreast of current scientific trends and helping DNASTAR design and develop products that are responsive to those trends.  You will be expected to take a lead role in new product design and grant writing and provide outstanding product specifications in a variety of formats. You will also be expected to periodically give scientific presentations.

Software Engineers are responsible for analyzing users' needs to design, develop, test, and maintain computer applications software or systems. They may also be project team leads, depending on experience and qualifications. We seek programmers proficient in C# .NET and C++.

Requirements for the scientific based positions include an advanced degree in Molecular Biology or related field (Ph. D. preferred), 5 years of applicable industry experience, strong communication skills and solid computer capabilities.   The Bioinformatics Specialists should also have strong programming capability in languages suitable for prototyping and simple development (C# .Net framework preferred).

Internships are often available in the areas of Quality Assurance software testing and software development (full-time in the summer or year-round part-time or full-time) and in our marketing department. For our QA and marketing internships, we seek individuals with life science backgrounds who have an interest in software testing or marketing. For software development interns, we seek computer science students who have an interest in molecular biology.
