Mac users should postpone upgrading to macOS Big Sur
Version Affected: All
Version Fixed: N/A (expected in 17.2.1)
Issue: In early autumn 2020, DNASTAR was granted access to an early beta version of Macintosh macOS Big Sur, the operating system that Macintosh will release on November 12th, 2020. Upon testing, we discovered issues that prevented Protean 3D and SeqMan NGen from functioning correctly.
DNASTAR plans to release Lasergene 17.2 in early winter of 2020. We are already working on a subsequent patch (17.2.1) that will make these applications compatible with macOS Big Sur. Until the patch is released, we recommend that customers who run Lasergene on a Macintosh machine postpone upgrading to macOS Big Sur. We will be sending an email to affected customers once it is safe to upgrade.
