Version Affected: 17.1 and later
Version Fixed: N/A
Issue: MegAlign version 17.1 and later includes RAxML for Maximum Likelihood phylogenetic inference calculations. This feature requires a CPU with Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX ) support. Computers without AVX support are not able to compute phylogeny using RAxML in MegAlign Pro.
Resolution: To run MegAlign Pro 17.1, you must use a CPU with AVX support. Generally, processors from 2011 and later were built with AVX support. If your computer may have been built prior to 2011, you can determine whether your CPU supports AVX by checking with the manufacturer for your CPU model, or looking it up here. To find your CPU model:
- On Windows, open Settings and choose System>About.
- On mac OS users, go to the Apple icon and select About This Mac.

Where can I get the genome template for alligning RNAseq or ChIPseq data?
Hi Thomas, if your organism of interest is a commonly-studied species, you can choose to download a DNASTAR genome template package, or you can import a reference sequence from NCBI from within SeqMan NGen while setting up your project. If you need help with this, please don’t hesitate to contact us at email@example.com or call 866-511-5090.
