Version Affected: Lasergene 18.0.3
Version Fixed: Lasergene 18.1
Issue: Lasergene’s Java-based applications do not launch on Mac computers running Apple Silicon unless Apple’s Rosetta software is also installed. This affects the Lasergene applications GenVision Pro, SeqMan Ultra, Protean 3D, MegAlign Pro, and SeqNinja.
Resolution: With the release of Lasergene 18.1, Apple Rosetta is included with the Lasergene installation and does not need to be installed separately. To resolve this issue, update to the latest version of Lasergene by going to the My Licenses page of our website. If you need assistance, please contact us at 866-511-5090 or [email protected].
If you do not wish to update your Lasergene software, a workaround is to install the free Rosetta software yourself. To do this, simply double-click on one of the above Lasergene apps in the Finder. In response, macOS will offer to install Rosetta. Once Rosetta is installed, your Lasergene applications should launch without any issues.
