Date: 10/20/26
Version Affected: Lasergene 19.0.1 and prior
Version Fixed: Lasergene 19.0.2
Issue: After installing Lasergene, the installer opens the DNASTAR Navigator automatically. If you are using macOS 27 (Golden Gate), however, and attempt to launch a Lasergene application from the Navigator, the operating system causes the Navigator to inherit an incorrect home directory. This causes applications launched from the Navigator in this situation to misbehave. Examples include:
- failure of the Lasergene application to launch
- failed assemblies in SeqMan NGen that include the wording “Error: Internal startup failure: System.UnauthorizedAccessException.”
This situation only occurs when the Navigator was launched during installation, and only with the macOS 27 operating system. Closing and reopening the Navigator causes it to resume working as usual.
Resolution: The issue was fixed in Lasergene 19.0.2, released October 20, 2026. To resolve this issue, update to the latest version of Lasergene by going to the My Licenses page of our website. If you need assistance, please contact us at 866-511-5090 or [email protected].
